Catholics across the area are inspired by Pope Francis. In order to welcome the Pope to the United States we worked together to respond to his challenge to end hunger by 2025.
- Over 140 parishes, schools, agencies, and institutions of the archdiocese pledged 1,055,000 food items for distribution to local pantries. That compares to a goal of 1,000,000 items.
- Parishioners from throughout the 19 counties of the archdiocese also wrote 12,147 letters advocating for life-giving nutritional programs in the federal budget, more than two and a half times the goal of 5,000.
- The Defeat Hunger Obstacle Run gathered 10,709 items of food, 214% of our goal.
- 2 Pope Francis Houses are being built with Habitat for Humanity/
Our campaign was called Food for All: Be Multiplied. It was inspired by the Gospel story of Jesus’ miraculous feeding of 5000 people with the small gift of 5 loaves and 2 fish.
With a gift of 1 Jesus fed 5000. You matter. Be multiplied!
